I *hate* living in a small town three hours away from the nearest art supply store. Sigh. The $8.00 in shipping charges from DickBlick is far cheaper than the gas it would take to drive to the art store.
I know the feeling. We have art stores where we live now, but we spent 8 years in a small western Kansas town before this city. An art supply desert. The one good thing is that when I DID make it to an art store, my sense of enjoyment and appreciation far exceeded that of the locals that took it for granted.
"I believe that what truly matters in the making of art is not what the final piece looks like or sounds like, not what it is worth or not worth but what newness gets added to the universe in the process of the piece itself becoming."

I'll hope for a speedy delivery.
